Where COMPASS started
A simple idea, built around the whole child.
Children learn best when they feel understood, supported, and excited to participate.
Jordanna Spaulding brings 25 years of experience in early childhood education—from classroom teaching, reading support, cognitive behavioral therapy, and play therapy to working alongside occupational, physical, and speech therapists. That range shaped her highly individualized approach to learning.
She looks closely at how each child thinks, communicates, and responds, then uses movement, play, and carefully designed instruction to help them build skills, confidence, and independence.
That approach became COMPASS. What started with children playing and learning around a bubble maker in a Hoboken park grew into academic programs, social skills classes, camps, aquatics, and enrichment. In 2020, Jordanna added virtual social programming and academic learning pods, and later opened the Hoboken Clubhouse. After becoming a mother in 2024, she created COMPASS Baby to help parents support their babies’ development through purposeful play, movement, and connection.
