Your Nanny Doesn’t Need to Be a Child Development Expert—But You Do.

Most nannies are truly wonderful — caring, patient, and loving with our little ones.
But they’re not usually trained in what’s happening beneath the surface — the brain and body development that sets the stage for things like focus, coordination, and emotional regulation later on.
And honestly, why would they be? Their gift is nurturing and caring, not spotting sensory challenges or primitive reflexes.
Still, here’s what we notice:
Babies who skip crawling may have a harder time focusing as they grow.
Emotional outbursts can sometimes be tied to reflexes that haven’t quite integrated yet.
Fine motor delays can show up when movement opportunities aren’t intentional.
As parents, we all want to do right by our children — and the truth is, you don’t have to be perfect… just informed.
That’s why I created Compass Baby Classes — a space where you’ll learn how to support your baby’s development in simple, playful ways that fit right into your daily routine. You’ll start to notice the little things that matter — and feel confident that your child is thriving, while your nanny continues to provide the love and care that only they can.
Because early intervention is wonderful, but early prevention is even better.
In our classes, we explore all the foundations your baby needs:
Gross motor skills: rolling, crawling, climbing, pulling up
Fine motor skills: grasping, squeezing, pinching
Sensory and oral development
Early language and communication
🧸 Join us:
Tuesdays & Thursdays for sensory and motor development
Wednesdays for oral sensory development
Let’s make these early months both meaningful and fun — for you, your baby, and your caregiver team.
Warmly,
Jordanna
