Holiday Shopping Survival Kit

It’s the most wonderful (or stressful) time of the year! With Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the rearview mirror, COMPASS has some pointers for your last-minute shopping experience before the holidays arrive.

DO RESEARCH ON YOUR LIST

Go through each item on your list to ensure you are getting the best deal possible. Sometimes, it may be easier to shop online for specific items, which could save you a trip to another store.

KNOW YOUR STORES

Again, to find the best deals on all gifts, it is imperative to know which stores will give you the best value for quality and price.

PLAN YOUR TRIP

We’ve all made the dreadful mistake of walking into a shopping mall with no plan. That can cost you your time and money. Therefore, make sure you come up with a plan of action–mapping out your journey and ONLY hitting the stores you need to.

Before you go holiday shopping, here are the MUST-HAVES in your purse:

1. Your list

Double check, triple check. Shopping from memory never usually ends well. *Hot Tip: organize your list into store categories to make life easier when maneuvering through the mall.

2. Coupons & gift cards

Take advantage of those mass emails you receive from all your favorite stores during this time! Many people overlook opportunities to save money from hidden gift cards of coupons that may be lingering in your wallet or purse!

3. Map of mall

Don’t take more steps than you need to! Outline your route so that you can get in and get out ASAP.

4. Fuel

It’s never a good idea to go shopping on an empty stomach. Bring some snacks and water to help you stay sharp while holiday shopping.

ALSO: Don’t forget that today is the last day for COMPASS’ Cyber Monday deal. $20 off any winter program! The best holiday present for your child is an experience of a lifetime!
